Sleeve SolutionsManufacturer Brings Sleeve Technology to Green Bay

Rol-Tec has purchased Sleeve Solutions and is moving the manufacturing operation to Green Bay, WI. Sleeve Solutions of Crystal Lake, IL is a producer of precision fiberglass sleeves used in flexographic printing and coating operations. Precision Fiberglass Sleeves are used as a base for rubber covers or printing plates. They are used to ease change of coverings in printing and coating applications. Instead of changing an entire metal roller, the user can slide the old sleeve off and replace by sliding a new covered sleeve on the metal roller core while it is still in the machine.

Matt Umentum, President of Rol-Tec commented, “Sleeve Solutions has been a long time valued supplier to Rol-Tec and is widely recognized as the highest quality tapered and parallel sleeve manufacturer in the world. We are proud to have them as a part of our team.” Rol-Tec will sell the sleeves under the Sleeve Solutions brand name.

Sleeve SolutionsThe entire Illinois manufacturing operation will be moved to Green Bay by the end of January, 2016. Four jobs have been created to fill the production needs but Umentum anticipates up to ten additional manufacturing jobs will result within the next twelve months. Moving the people and technology to Green Bay will allow Rol-Tec to speed finished product to Rol-Tec’s end customer. “We will cut at least seven manufacturing days to finish a laser engraved rubber covered sleeve to our printing customer. In the printing industry where lead times are continually getting tighter, one week is a big deal. We are now the only company in the world able to provide this complete product all from one location,” Umentum said.

Sleeve Solutions has over thirty years in tapered sleeve manufacture and design. Along with tapered and parallel sleeves for covering, the line includes conductive sleeves to dissipate static charges as well as ground sleeves used in plate mounting applications. Steve Barker, former President of Sleeve Solutions, will stay involved to smooth the transition and to ensure the product technology and quality remain intact. Barker said, “Rol-Tec has a reputation for the highest standards of quality, technology, and service. I think these two companies coming together are a perfect fit. I’m thrilled that we were able to make this acquisition a reality and the Sleeve Solutions name and quality product will remain in the marketplace.”

Rol-Tec Big Buck Contest Winners

November 25, 2013

Brad Schreiner 1st Place

Brad Schreiner took home 1st prize and $90 with this eight pointer shot in Rusk County on Sunday morning, November 24th. This is a big old buck for Rol-Tec's longest serving employee. Brad started with Rol-Tec in 1989 and works in our urethane molding department.

Mike Nicholson 2nd PlaceMike Nicholson's eight point buck was good for $60 and second place. Mike's buck taken in the Valders area just missed the first place money by 1 1/2 inches between the spread. Mike works as an extruder operator in the rubber covering department at Rol-Tec.

Kyle Irmick 3rd PlaceKyle shot this 4 pointer with his dad, Jerry Irmick, in the Luxemburg area on opening morning. Kyle works at Rol-Tec in the summer and his father is the Urethane Department Manager. When he's not hunting, Kyle is a Sophmore at East DePere High School and is on the wrestling team. The buck's rack was broken due to fighting but was originally eight points. Most importantly, the four remaining points were good enough for 3rd place and $50.
